ASFPM Conference

The Indiana FEH team recently participated in a special group presention on fluvial hazards at the 2013 Annual Convention of the Association of State Floodplain Managers (AFSPM) in Hartford, CT. River Assessment

I am back from the National Conservation Training Center (NCTC) in Shepherdstown, WV. I went there to participate in a Rosgen Level III shortcourse on river assessment and monitoring. The course is hosted at the NCTC by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS).

FEH News

In collaboration with the continuing professional education program for the Indiana Association of Realtors, the FEH Team and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Division of Water, is developing a 3-hour continuing education course for Realtors on flood hazards. The course will be designed to be delivered around the state by Association's staff educators, and as an online course.

Pleasant Run Plantings

We anticipate that live stakes will arrive on March 18. The contractor is going to use the live stakes to replace some plantings that did not survive last year's drought, and to increase bank stability in some stream reaches.
