Service Learning participants will help prepare a vacant lot on Indy’s near eastside for the creation of a thriving fruit and vegetable garden. The service-learning event associated with the project is one work day when we will be performing site clean up and laying out garden beds.

“What is a watershed?” K-12 students discovered the answer to this question and more while attending CEES’ booth at last Thursday’s M.S.D. of Pike Township Math and Science Community Fair. CEES interns Robert Lugg and Scott Davidson assisted more than 50 students over the span of two hours construct their own watershed model.

We anticipate that live stakes will arrive on March 18. The contractor is going to use the live stakes to replace some plantings that did not survive last year's drought, and to increase bank stability in some stream reaches.

We are sorry to report that the Ohio River Basin Alliance Conference has been postponed. Federal agencies are under strict travel restrictions as a result of the Sequester and are unable to attend the conference in March. The Alliance is tentatively rescheduling the conference for August 2013. We will post updates as we receive them.
